Postpartum Recovery

You don’t need to wait 6 weeks to start your journey towards postpartum recovery. Notice I did NOT say go to the gym or for a run. Im talking about healing. Pregnancy and delivery is a trauma to the body and healing needs to happen in order to feel whole again. There are several things that can be done to help you return to your favorite activities without over stressing the body. Understanding the postpartum stage will allow you to determine when it is safe to return to activities to avoid leaking, prolapse or widening a diastasis.

Recovery work can begin as soon as mom is feeling up to it, assuming she had a healthy, vaginal delivery. This program will provide mom with better strategies for carrying, feeding, changing and picking up your baby. It’s important for mom to reconnect with her body postpartum to promote healing. You will be provided with simple solutions and functional exercises that can be implement into your day to strengthen your body and help it get back to moving the way it was designed. Low back and pelvic pain will be addressed as well as symptoms of urge and stress incontinence.

This program includes a home visit (via zoom) to help you set up for success while caring for you and your baby. During your postpartum evaluation Jillian will assess the entire body, analyzing posture, movement patterns, symptoms and anything else mom is struggling with.
